Paintings
Currently I use a painting more as an element of a bigger whole, like an installation, or assembly. I am influenced by colour field techniques (e.g. Frank Stella) and recently, gestural and calligraphic paintings (e.g. Brice Marden). I paint mostly in a conflicted state of moving away from traditional style of painting versus treating painting as a sculpture or object. In future I would like to expand my practice to make stand alone painting works.

To be an artist is rare, to be a painter is easy. You could be a great painter and not be an artist.
I think painting is a discipline, and also, the key to painting is freedom.
There's a paradox involved with that - how could you be disciplined and free at the same time?
Metaphoric painting is what artists do when they arrive at a statement about poetics,
where the poetics of the painting brings the painting to another dimension
and takes you to a higher state of consciousness
